Tawanda Masimbe

Head of Business Development & Client Relations

Tawanda is a seasoned professional with a distinguished background in labour and employment law, coupled with experience in executive search and recruitment consulting. Beginning his career at a prominent law firm, Tawanda transitioned into an in-house counsel role before co-founding his own recruitment firm in 2022.

 

In his current role as Head of Business Development & Client Relations at AfricaOnBoard (AoB), Tawanda leverages his unique blend of legal knowledge and recruitment expertise to foster enduring client relationships and provide top-notch counsel to organizations seeking talent. With a meticulous attention to detail and a genuine desire to add value, Tawanda approaches client interactions with a proactive mindset, consistently exceeding expectations and anticipating evolving needs.

 

Tawanda holds Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations & Political Studies and Law (LLB), along with Masters degrees in Labour and Employment Law and Law. His diverse educational background, coupled with his hands-on experience in both legal and recruitment domains, positions him as a trusted advisor and resource for organizations seeking exceptional talent.

Vincent Aberi

Regional Business Development East Africa

Vincent Aberi is a Kenyan national with extensive experience in the corporate world, having worked in Kenya and the USA for over 15 years. He previously served as the Director of Business Development at the C & R Group based in Nairobi. During his time there, he was responsible for overseeing business growth in Kenya and Uganda.

Before joining the C & R Group, Vincent held the position of Head of International Banking at KCB Bank Group, where he managed assets locally and internationally, covering operations in various countries across Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. Additionally, he previously worked for several Fortune 500 financial services companies in the USA, such as Citi Group, Western & Southern Financial Group, TIAA-CREF, Bank of America, and Comerica Bank.

Vincent is also involved in non-profit work, serving on the boards of Inable in Washington DC & Nairobi, which provides technology to the blind, and Fine Arts Chamber Players in Dallas, Texas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from the University of Texas and has professional license accreditations, including financial securities licenses, insurance licensing, and a license in certified financial analysis in North America. Vincent is a graduate of the Leadership Banking Management Program from Comerica Bank in Dallas, Texas.

Vincent’s primary focus is to build the brand’s presence and recognition in the East African market, specifically in countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.

Chams Diagne

Regional Business Development West Africa

Chams Diagne, holder of a degree from the Institute of Marketing and Distribution Management of Lille and the ICD Business School Paris (IGS Group), has established an outstanding professional trajectory, characterized by his entrepreneurial commitment and expertise in the fields of new technologies and human resources.

He also completed the Seed Transformation Program from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, further enhancing his strategic acumen and leadership skills.

His career commenced at Microsoft, where he acquired invaluable skills that became the cornerstone of his future success. Subsequently, he served as Marketing Manager within the E-services department of La Poste France, showcasing his adeptness in navigating diverse and demanding environments.

Chams Diagne’s entrepreneurial drive came to the forefront in the early 2000s when he co-founded the Parisian web agency, Passerelle Communication Interactive, alongside his associates. This experience marked the genesis of his entrepreneurial journey and played a pivotal role in shaping his innovative vision.

In 2006, Chams Diagne joined Viadeo, the leading French-speaking professional social network, as a founding member. He held various roles, from Business Development in France to expanding the professional network in Europe, before assuming responsibility for African development in 2011 from the Africa Hub based in Casablanca. His contributions to Viadeo’s growth and his engagement in the African market solidified his position as a seasoned professional and visionary.

Today, Chams Diagne has returned to entrepreneurship with the establishment of Talent2Africa, a pan-African executive employment platform. This initiative underscores his commitment to Africa’s economic development by uniting candidates from diverse backgrounds around career opportunities on the continent. In 2019, Talent2Africa made history by becoming the first Francophone West African start-up to secure $1 million in funding, a significant milestone reflecting the success and potential of the company under Chams Diagne’s leadership.

His entrepreneurial approach, as delineated in the supplementary text, underscores his determination, courage, and strategic acumen. As a “bootstrapper,” he is distinguished by his initiative, insight, and relentless focus on business growth.
